Inter
Milan who their name is at times, is a team from Northern
Italy. The city Milan to be more exact. Inter was formed in
1908 during controversial circumstances. Inter and city rivals
Milan used to be one team. However, in March 1908 a group
of rebels started their own team called "Football Club
Internazionale Milano".
The
reason for why these rebels started their own team was because
Milan (known during that time as Milan Cricket and Football
Club) didn´t allow foreign players into the team. That
was something that some of the players in the team refused
to accept. So they started the historical team Inter. The
name Internazionale became fundamental in their fight against
racism in football. The very first captain was even a foreigner.
That´s how it really started.
About 94 years later, Inter has become the third biggest team
in history in Italy. They have collected 13 Lo Scudetto´s
so far. With that, they have earned the prestigious star on
their logo. Their first Scudetto was won the year 1910, only
3 years after the team was founded.
They´ve also won the biggest European club tournament
called the Europan Cup (thesedays Champions League) twice.
The colours of the Inter jersey
is normally black and blue. Also with golden stripes. They
have had these colours ever since they were founded.
Today Inter is fighting for winning the Scudetto every year.
Their last Scudetto came as far back as the season 1988/89.
That´s a long time ago for such a big club as Inter
Milan. Their president is Massimo Moratti, who´s the
son of the legendary Inter president, Angelo Moratti - who
owned Inter during the best years of their history (during
the 60´s). Massimo hasn´t been close as successfull
as his father, but no one can question the love he has for
Inter. Sadly, he has grew to have one of the worst reputations
in football due to his continuesly bad patience with coaches
and players. Massimo took charge of Inter 1995 and has only
won a UEFA Cup.
